1、用作及物动词

（1）使受伤

No one was seriously hurt in the traffic accident.在这次交通事故中没有人受重伤。

（2）使疼痛

The tight shoe hurt my foot、这只鞋太紧,把我的脚挤疼了。

（3）伤xx的感情;使(感情)受到伤害

He inadvertently hurt her feelings、他无意中伤了她的感情。

（4）损害,危害

The scandal hurt the governments image badly.这丑闻严重损害了政府的形象。

2、用作不及物动词

（1）疼痛

My right leg hurts、我右脚疼。

（2）带来痛苦;造成损失

It wont hurt to postpone the meeting for a few more days.

会议再推迟几天也无妨。

3、用作名词

（1）(精神上的)创伤[(+to)]

It was a real hurt to her vanity.

这对她的虚荣心真是一个打击。

（2）伤;痛

The massage made the hurt go away、按摩使疼痛消失了。

4、用作形容词，表示(心灵等)受到伤害的

There was a hurt look in her eyes、

她的眼睛流露出一种委屈的神色。

5、be hurt后可接动词不定式或that从句。

She was hurt to think of his being left alone.

想到他一个人留在那儿她就难受。
